Damian, There are companies like AT&T that make special efforts to hire veterans and minorities. If you really want a job then focus on polishing your abity to present yourself. Find someone who will help you understand what employers are doing during the interview process. Take Judy up on her offer to help you get a professional resume that highlights your skills. Work at always using proper grammar, even in everyday conversation-it will repay your efforts richly.

In the Dallas area there are several companies that specifically seek out and hire Veterans.... Check out the TXU Energy careers at txu.com there are jobs at TXU and EFH listed. It is a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for companies with more than 15 employees (I believe, although it can be 20 employees) to discriminate in hiring based on someone's disability. The employer needs to make reasonable accommodations to enable the disabled person to work (e.g., larger monitors for people with poor vision). If you feel like you were discriminated against, consider filing a complaint.
