I’m looking to transition into software development/engineering. I’ve been currently been learning JavaScript react Postgres mongodb thunderclient and some aws. What opportunities are available for individuals who are learning to code ?

Hello Sherika. I usually recommend learning, as a core, C++, java and Python. These will give you a good programming foundation. Database, and other languages, and platforms (AWS Azure), and OSes should also be learned, depending on your interests. A degree and certifications are big pluses. If you get a position, with no degree, employers frequently help pay for classes.

In terms of job opportunities in your area, I looked on for entry level software developer positions, within 25 miles of Longwood. Indeed came back with 101 positions.
