I’m looking to transition into software development/engineering. I’ve been currently been learning JavaScript react Postgres mongodb thunderclient and some aws. What opportunities are available for individuals who are learning to code ?

Hello Sherika. I usually recommend learning, as a core, C++, java and Python. These will give you a good programming foundation. Database, and other languages, and platforms (AWS Azure), and OSes should also be learned, depending on your interests. A degree and certifications are big pluses. If you get a position, with no degree, employers frequently help pay for classes.

In terms of job opportunities in your area, I looked on Indeed.com for entry level software developer positions, within 25 miles of Longwood. Indeed came back with 101 positions.

Hi Sherika! If you are 180 days out or more from your separation date, you can apply for the VET TEC program. It is funded by the VA and does not take away from your GI Bill benefits. Below is some information on eligibility and specifics:
