I have experience as a Military Police and have currently been working security for the past two years. I would like to transition to something different. While I was in college, I interned in Washington DC and I also worked on a Congressional campaign as a County Coordinator. Any advice?

Another avenue to explore would be some of the veterans organizations that help transition vets to the workplace. One such org is the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). They have specialists in their Warriors to Work who help match your skills and experience to the needs of hiring managers. They also assist you in setting attainable employment goals, building an effective resume, prepare for interviews and network with local employers. Hope this helps, and thanks for your service.
I agree with George. Being happy and enjoying going to work each day should really be a main goal. Also, I noticed that you requested some help in organizing a resume - including grammatic proof reading and such. I can help with that as I am surrounded by great writers and proofreaders at my current place of employment

What are your passions? What do you enjoy doing? What do you want to transition to, as far as a position?
Personally, I've changed positions in my company at least 8 times, doing mostly different things. The key is that I have the ability or some passion to do these jobs.
When you interned in DC, what did you do?
When you worked as a County Coordinator, what did you do?
What I mean by "what did you do" is was your role one of leadership? What did you do? Did you enjoy what you did?
The opportunities in this world are virtually endless. The variable that has to be understood is what you want to do. I've found that if you enjoy your work, that it really doesn't feel like work.
