I came across the following training opportunity via LinkedIn for veterans who are looking for employment in the corrosion industry and thought I'd pass it along.
The training is being sponsored by NACE International (http://www.nace.org) and will be held from July 27 - August 8 at Fort Custer in Augusta, MI. Here is a link for more information:

To add on to this, I took this training around 18 years ago, and it continues to help me today. NACE is the National Association of Corrosion Engineers, and this class if it is the one I'm thinking of, teaches you all about how corrosion works, what influences it, and how to stop it.
As an engineer and someone who works repairing things as a hobby, this class was very helpful. I never knew there were so many ways to corrode materials.
It comes with a large book, NACE Basic Corrosion, which I keep with me to this day, and use on a regular basis. It is filled with information and photos that you can compare to your issues.
