Hello everyone,
I’m Quang Nguyen, a retired veteran in the army who had to leave the service due to a chronic lower back injury, which limits my ability to sit or stand for extended periods. .Despite this challenge, I’m deeply passionate about travel and achieving financial independence.
I’m thrilled to join this advisor network and eager to connect with you all for insights and advice. My ultimate goal is to travel the world while having the skillset and resources to contribute meaningfully to the community. I am currently utilizing my VR&E and GI Bill benefits to further my education and am exploring the best ways to achieve financial freedom.
I was a 25U back then, therefore I find it deep in my passion to help and provide support to others and providing them the answer they need
I started an Amazon FBA store back then but stopped due to family issues and lack of capital due to mistakes was made during the way by me since I didn't know what I was doing back then.
Here are some key areas where I would greatly appreciate your advice:
Career Path in Finance: What are some effective strategies to build a successful career in finance, especially for someone transitioning from a different field?
Educational Pursuits: How can I best leverage my VR&E and GI Bill benefits to gain the skills needed for a career in finance?
Investment Strategies: What investment approaches or strategies would you recommend for someone starting out, with the goal of creating passive income?
Business Opportunities: I have past experience with Amazon FBA, which unfortunately didn’t succeed due to cash flow issues. I’m passionate about entrepreneurship and am open to exploring new business opportunities that could help me achieve financial freedom, support my loved ones, and give back to the community.
Networking and Community Engagement: How can I effectively network within the finance and entrepreneurial spaces to identify opportunities and grow my skills?
I’m excited to learn from your experiences and perspectives. Any guidance, resources, or suggestions you can share would be immensely valuable as I navigate this journey.
Thank you in advance for your support and advice!
Best regards,
Quang Nguyen

Hello Quang. The best investment you can ever make is education. Your goal should be to get a finance degree, or a business degree with lots of finance courses, as that is your interest. Try to get a bachelors degree, but if that does not work, get an associate degree.
As far as investments, I think a good strategy starts with simply saving money. I always like to have enough cash to cover all of my expenses for several months. The idea is that if I lose my job, I want to have enough cash to live on until I find another job. Any saved beyond that is available for investing. Later you could talk with an investment advisor. The larger banks provide investment services, and there are many brokerage and investment firms. Get recommendations and talk to several. They generally start by having you answer questions that determine your tolerance to risk and your goals. Everyone is different, so they should tailor their recommendations to your needs and comfort. ( I am not an investment advisor, these are just my opinions!)
Thanks for your service and good luck.
