If you're willing to relocate to San Antonio, I would look at USAA. I worked there for several years and since their membership is military based, you would have priority. It's a solid company that treats it's employees very well. I still have many friends that work there some in the cyber security division. If you want stability and the opportunity to grow, I would look for a larger company. I'm sure in the Houston area you'll find plenty of companies like that as well as smaller contract type companies. Good luck!

Joyce has added excellent summary & links. To add to it

Assuming you have decided for Cyber Security, some more thoughts.
A tech startup or public company will give more opportunities & better salary & perks. These include http://www.mcafee.com/careers/

Cyber Security has many sub-fields & skill requirements vary, you will to pick which Incident Response, Forensics, etc. They do require computer skills.
Go through some conference videos like at https://www.defcon.org/html/links/dc-archives.html, just sit till they are over if needed, to get a feel
In general security is a career that requires some travel

A good mix of intelligence & security are roles at Palantir

How about something with Homeland Security? https://www.dhs.gov/join-dhs-cybersecurity

or this one at Northrup Grumman: http://jobs.meetngc.com/texas/cyber-security-jobs

You should make sure your skills stack up and check in with some technology certifications - like CISSP or CAP. here's a link for that information. https://www.isc2.org/credentials/Default.aspx
They will have books and networking information that may prove helpful.

Best of luck.
