I'm a veteran with 20+ years of experience in marketing communications and am currently on the hunt for my next role. I've been looking for a handful of months at this point and have joined multiple networks, including a strong executive search firm. I've had multiple interviews, but all have come from the traditional "apply and hope" method. As much as folks share the advice of "network, network, network", I'm struggling to convert networking discussions into interviews and opportunities.
Curious about the group's thoughts on what you have used that has worked. I'm a passionate person who enjoys great conversation.
Oh, and if any of you are looking for senior-level marketing and communications leaders, let's "network"! :) I'm hungry... and ready to get back into it!

Ryan,
ACP had a great webinar yesterday about LinkedIn branding and engagement that included networking tips. Check it out here: https://www.linkedin.com/events/7185615978360098818/comments/.
Also, consider asking for warm introductions from friends to people that might be good contacts. Those warm introductions are key, and you never know who they might then introduce you to.
Best,
Deirdre
