Any help from fellow veterans currently employed in Transportation
I am a retiring senior non-commissioned officer in the US Army (26 years), planning to transition out and seek employment. Because I am a transporter (88N), I am thinking of civilian employment opportunities in my existing field. I am currently the mobility NCO in my brigade, in charge of all movement plans and modes of movement. I was wondering if I may hear from the group about employment opportunities in transportation and possible industries I may be suited for. I’m just getting a feel for the civilian sector.
I understand I am asking a pretty general question, but I want to see what the different opportunities are for someone like me.
Also, any tips about retiring in general would be greatly helpful.
Thanks,
John

John,
My company is a trucking and logistics company based out of S Calf. We have opportunities in S Calf at this time. If I can help answer questions about the company or general questions please let me know.
John, Thank you for your Service. When thinking about transportaion, its worth while to identify the contractors that provide services to the Transportaion Industry.
For Example,
Mass Transit: Camera Systems, Ticketin Systems, Fare Collection, Train Scheduling
PORTS: Freight Tracking, Security Systems used in the Ports.
Try to identify the large private contractors, and look for Jobs that your background may be a good fit for.
Best Of Luck, Keep Us Posted on how it goes.
