Rick,
You have a diverse portfolio and some very nice stuff. I see some straight-up fashion stuff and I see small samples of some really great stuff. I think you have a great eye and you have to trust that eye and be a bit "edgier". The Taiwan shot of the boat is great cropping and what I think can help you. If you do some post production work and make the colors more vibrant, you can start to earn some money. I think you have a great vision and along that path to achieving your goal, you should look to establishing a steady income stream.

You may be sitting on a good pile of money now in the exotic lands you have traveled to and hopefully photographed. I would look through your shots, crop them dynamically, touch them up a bit, and start posting them on stock photography websites. It may take some time and a lot of posting of shots, but over time you may be able to establish a very modest income stream across many websites.

I would increase the number of shots that are still life - hard-goods, products like shoes, watches , luggage etc. this way you can also look to being a photographer for retailers like Amazon and Target.

To take a step towards your dream, find you artistic vision and tell a story with your photographs. Then publish them on your website and promote the heck out of them. When you look through your landscapes, put a bunch together and send your online portfolio to media buyer who hires photographers. Also find an agency that hires photographers and solicit them. Also, discover what separates you from everyone else. Is it your cropping? Your post work? The way produce the final print ( on canvas or some other substrate ).

I think you have a lot of options. I have said a lot. Please ask me questions.

Scott: thanks for your reply. I have been shooting since the 70's. I have been a wedding photographer, sports, fashion, produce. My biggest asset is my studio work. I learned theater lighting in University, and it has been a great asset. My vision is to be an international photographic artist. That said I will refer you to my website to see if I have a commercial future. http://ricksquires.smugmug.com/ Once again Thanks

Rick,
First, thank you for your service. Second, I have a bunch of questions. What kind of photography interests you? There are many avenues I can suggest as I have been in the advertising/graphic design/market in profession for over 23 years and 4 years before earning my degree. If you could please give me an idea of your vision, your ideal photography job and then I could better guide you.
Scott
