I do a bit of hobby robotics, but don't work in the field.
ACP and acp-advisornet are great resources.
* Also utilize LinkedIn, including Veteran specific gropes such as the Veteran Mentor Network, and groups focused on topics of interest to you, such as robotics, 3D printing, etc.
* be sure to utilize the advanced people search tool to proactively seek and reach out to potential mentors and advisors, and also post to discussions, interact an provide feedback, here and on other boards.
* Also see out trade groups and professional organizations.
