trying to find where I can apply for a career in helping military families and singles transition

Veteran

KASEY ROSE Lewisville, TX

I am trying to find a career where I would be able to help military members and family transition back in to the civilian world. I believe I would be wonderful at this because it is something I recently had to do when I divorced my husband who was in the Marines and had to return to Texas from Hawaii. I have been around Military my whole life, including my grandpa, college sweetheart, husband and now boyfriend. So from first hand knowledge I know how hard it can be and I would love to help. If you could please give me some information on how I could do this and if there are any careers in my area that does this I would greatly be appreciative. Please email me kaseylrose@gmail.com or call 210-232-3956, I am in North Texas.

Kasey -
What role do you want to play, and might certain certifications or degrees be helpful and/or required?

A good place to start might be volunteering in a role that interest you. You can visit a local VA facility and other organizations that serve Veterans and others in transition.

Hi Kasey. I have the same passion and one of the best ways I found to help other veterans was to become a certified coach. You can look at getting some career coaching skills and add that to your knowledge of military transitions. And while you are doing that you might be able to offer up your experiences on this ACP site. I'm not real sure but Samantha would be more able to answer if you would qualify to be a veteran contributor or an advisor. It's a great platform to assist other veterans. I'm sure you have some valuable experience to share.

Take care,
