I am an Army MSG transitioning this summer to the Tampa Bay area. My specialty has always been in the personnel field, but with my leadership skills, I am open to any and all opportunities.

A good place to start is www.tampascore.org. There are many business incubators in the Tampa Bay area, www, http://www.tampabaywave.org/, www.stpete.org/greenhouse, www.tampa.tie.org, resources at Mac Dill of course, Bay Pines VA Hospital,(Veteran Counseling), James Haley VA Hospital, www.pinellascounty.score.org.
Tom, What I meant was companies or opportunities that might come to mind for a transitioning veteran like myself. I will do a search to try to identify advisors in Florida that I may ask to guide me to those opportunities. Then i will get more indept about what I am looking for.
I'm not a young Soldier so at this point, I'm not sure what I want to do.I just joined today, I'll work on my profile to list my skills and identify what I may focus my search on.
Thank you,
Fred
Frederic,
Thanks for your service.
There are few if any "Veteran employment" jobs or careers. There are jobs and careers that utilize the skills and benefits you have developed and demonstrated during you military career. Make your Veteran status secondary to the skills and benefits you offer to an employer.
What are the key skills and benefits you offer to an employer?
Here is a practical exercise: Begin to craft a personal 8-second "opening statement" and a 30-second "elevator speech", both focused on the skills and benefits you offer to an employer. Share those with us, so we can help you, and so we can learn.
