I have an AS Degree in Computer Electronic Engineering. I am looking for a job hopefully with PLC's and ladder logic, or Robots.

As Joe observed, your post is from a year ago, but it comes up pretty high on the list as I log in today. Like Amanda, I immediately thought of the GE Appliances operation in Louisville. I believe there are some other, small operations in that area, as well. You might also look at GE Intelligent Platforms - I don't know whether they have openings in that area, but they are an entire business unit structured around PLCs, HMIs.
To John's response, let me add another idea: distributors of Automation Equipment. Nearly every system we build at GE Water has a PLC and an HMI. We have engineers who develop the programs for these based on detailed understanding of the process they are driving. But I know that they occasionally get support from the local distributors of PLCs (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley sell exclusively through distribution, and I think that most Siemens sales are also through distributors. These distributors frequently enhance their value to customers by providing expertise in selecting the right type of PLC and developing code.
Good luck if you're still searching!

Vondal - GE Appliances has a facility in Louisville, KY that might have some of what you are looking for. I'd suggest checking out the following websites for opportunities within GE:

The veterans link has specific information to help veterans transition from the military into the civilian sector.
Good luck!

This is an old posting. Hopefully you've found a satisfying position. If not here are a few suggestions. PLCs and other digital control systems are ubiquitous in process type industries. Jobs can be found with the manufactures, e.g. ABB, Honeywell, etc., the end users, and contractors who design and build industrial facilities. Manufacturers have service groups that usually have regional offices. Check the manufacturers websites under careers. For end users look in your local area for companies that have continuous type manufacturing processes. Examples would be cement plant, processed foods, pharmaceuticals, power plants, waste treatment plants, etc. All of these types of facilities rely on automation and will need engineers/technicians to maintain the equipment. The contractors will be the companies that provide services to the end users. This is in the form of modifications or repairs to existing plants and construction of new facilities. Jobs in this area will entail design of controls systems, programming and installation, and finally startup and commissioning of the equipment after installation. A large metropolitan area such as Louisville will have numerous users in most of these categories.
