I just got my CDL and bought a dually and a trailer. How do I get in contact with brokers so I can start receiving loads?

Every time I look see a dually truck pulling a trailer with either equipment or cars on it. Who would I go to in order to start receiving loads? Thanks

Hi Jarod, Thank you for your service and dedication. My step kids father was a car transporter out of Newark, NJ before he died last fall. He owned a Peterbuilt 379 with a 9 car carrier. He transported vehicles from Newark up and down the east coast. I would suggest looking at the import ports like Newark where the need for transport carriers are always in demand. He worked for Northwest Auto Transport where they have a great community of independent truckers moving cars everywhere. Reach out to them and good luck.

Good Morning,

My husband owns a pool business and he originally didn't have his CDL or sometimes doesn't have time to travel to get a large fiberglass pool so he went on Craigslist or Facebook market place to find people that had their CDL and looking for work in the states he was targeting so they could go get the load and bring to him. He also sometimes just needs a driver given it's required to have a front and back person given the wide loads.

I would also suggest calling around to your local car dealerships to see if you can partner up with them to take vehicles from A-B, my grandfather did that in his retirement for purchased vehicles he actually drove the vehicle from A-B but maybe they have larger needs and talking to the floor manager could build a relationship with them where they are offering you more leads to their industry for hauling.

I would definitely post your business on Craigslist.

Just a few ideas, good luck with your new business and thank you for your service to our country! :) -Mindy

I am NOT a trucking expert, but here are some ideas:

Maybe begin here www.freefreightsearch.com ??
You will need a track records, so subcontracting from another trucking company might be the way to begin.
Make sure all your insurance and permits are ready to go.

Best wishes!
