I am starting Onward 2 Opportunity's Project Manager program to earn either a PMP cert or a PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner).
My goal is to join the emerging autonomous airlift industry that is developing very rapidly. (Think large drones (quadcopters and or fixed wing) that deliver cargo)
Question: Which certificate would be most beneficial and marketable? The tried and true PMP, or the newer Agile. I am interested in rapid development and prototyping, but with air vehicles.

Quick answer, both: PMP and an Agile cert.
Rational/justification. Most likely you'll seek a PM or Manager position, which typically have a "required/desired" PMP requirement; so that one is a must. Defense contractor companies are adjusting to meet DoD "agile" requirements, placed in contracts/awards; hence, Agile certifications are on the rise. SAFe Agile seems to be the hot cert in my company, but before it was hot, I got the CSM cert.
Like the military, degrees/certs are box fillers, to get you in; however, it's your effective use of those certs (PMP/CSM) that will help the organization thrive (make money) and allow you to rise quickly.
