Project Managers Professional Certification for Military or Veterans

Veteran

Brandin Lea Austin, TX

I wanted to let everyone know after some serious digging I found out that Those in Active Duty Service getting ready to transition out, National Guard and Reserve members can take the Full PMI certified PMP course of your choosing (IT, Health, Construction or Global) via your branched online portal. For Army that is AKO, for Navy/Marines NKO and Air Force its OMPF. In the Training sections for self service you will se e-learning online system. All you have to do is register and find the PMP courses. If you complete the courses you can use your Tuition assistance to pay for the official exam through COOL.

For DoD employees and Veterans you can do the same thing through DKO or Defense Knowledge Online. Although you do not have Tuition Assistance, you can pay for just the exam ($558) and the VA will reimburse you via one of the GI Bills, REAP, VEAP or others.

I hope this helps.

Good post.

I can't attest that I saw the PMI logo anywhere, but there is also a Marine Corps version offered by MarineNet (https://www.marinenet.usmc.mil/‎)...Professional Development Courses/Certification Preparation Training.

Additionally, there is good reason to pursue this credential...http://www.foxbusiness.com/personal-finance/2012/01/30/why-veterans-make-good-project-managers/
