My advice is to go volunteer at a hospital. You'll learn a lot and maybe get hired after 6 months or a year.

Hi Shawn,
What part of healthcare are you looking into for advancement? I've been in healthcare for over 20 years.
I would be happy to provide any advice and direction that I can based on the information that you provide.
Warm regards,

Hi Shawn,

Thank you for your service and for using ACP AdvisorNet! I have two suggestions for additional ways you can find a mentor.

First, the ACP AdvisorNet Community Page lets you search for advisors by both industry and location. When you find someone you are interested in talking with, you can send them a private message to arrange an informational interview.

Second, I understand you previously applied to our formal mentoring program. If you would like to proceed with a formal mentorship at this time, we could pair you with a great health care mentor for a year of one-hour monthly meetings at minimum.

If you have any questions about either of these suggestions, please feel free to email me at or call our office at (212) 752-0700. I would be happy to answer any additional questions.
