Michael Jordan Alexandria, VA

Does anyone know any area where I can work as some type of fitness instructor?

VERY short answer: Go explore working in the Physical Therapy Department of your local hospital. Health/hospital careers are of value!

Hello Michael,

Look into nutrition or personal training or physical therapy certifications with They are a fully accredited and well known for different areas of health wellness. Most, if not health wellness (physical or mental) instructors/ counselors need to have a certification that needs to be renewed accordingly.
If you like, please connect with me on Linkedin and I will connect you with a good friend of mine who went from being a personal to owning and his business and now a professor in the health wellness industry for a college.

Hey James,

Thanks for your response. I'm in the process of trying to narrow it down and your post really helped. Thanks again

Sergeant Jorden -
Good day. Your question is very broad and lacks any specificity. If you Google you’ll discover there are over 400 trainers in Alexandria, VA. You will also discover there are many types of trainers, e.g.
Weight Loss, Strength Training, Muscular Definition, Core and Balance, Muscle Gain,
Flexibility and Mobility, Nutrition, Wellness, Posture, Cardiovascular Conditioning, Injury Prevention, Boxing, Stress Reduction, Yoga, Sports Performance Training, Functional Training
Pilates, Kickboxing, Corrective Exercise, Cross Training, CrossFit, Kettlebells, Dance, TRX,
Myofascial Release, Barre, etc. The website also lists specific training businesses in and near Alexandria.

As you can see, the training market is vast with many specialties. My advice for you is to determine where you want to live and what type(s) of businesses you want to work in and especially what type of trainer you want to be.

Good luck Sergeant.
