Two good locations that need skilled security professionals who can pass a range test with good scores are Comanche Peak and South Texas Project nuclear plants.

Look up their hiring sites. We have many ex-military team members at my plant. Several have transitioned from security positions into other positions, including the manager of training and our Emergency Preparedness coordinator.

What I'm trying to say is that nuclear offers a variety of opportunities, and if you work well and have a positive personality, you could transfer to other divisions away from security, after your love for that position becomes more tempered.

I agree with the other submitter on your job changes. That could raise flags (I'll be less diplomatic), so be ready to explain what was going on.

If you are interested in moving, Exelon has security offerings (posted in Monster and Simply Hired) at our Limerick facility in Pennsylvania (I just looked and we had an opening). We are always hiring at one of our divisions. Look us up - maybe we could be a good match for your skills. While this isn't for a management position, if you show the right aptitude, you could be selected for such a position in a few years.

Good luck.

Not sure if there are local bases or government facilities hiring, but with veterans preferences you might be able to jump to the head of the list of applicants. Also while searching, build additional skillsets for the resume that can move you further up the ladder.

Rodney: I think it might be worthwhile to focus your job search. Taking a look at your LinkedIn and your profile here I can see that you've had and sought positions in a variety of roles. While you've been successful in various places, that pace of industry hopping may become interesting to a prospective employer.

My best recommendation would be to use this forum to refine your value proposition (what do I bring to the table), your goals (where do I want to go), and then your résumé (how do my skills/experiences align with those goals) so that you can land something that may be more satisfying and lasting for you.

Best,
Drew
