Evansville is a very small town. In small towns, I like to directly approach local business owners and community leaders and ask them for support in finding employment. This approach has the advantage of introducing yourself to the community and building the personal, long-term relationships necessary for success in a small town. Start with the manager at Buena Vista National Bank. Bank managers know most business owners and are great at business introductions. Also try the American Legion. Veterans get a lot of help at pro-military organizations in the mid-west. Expand your network to the rest of the county depending on how far you want to travel.
Consider describing the position you are looking for as a "General Manager". Google this job title for more detailed information, and if this is how you want to describe what you are looking for, write a one page resume for this job description. Drop the "executive level" concept and focus on basic small-business skills: operations, training, hiring, employee development, sales, marketing, customer service, finance, procurement and building great relationships.
