Would anyone mind looking over my resume?

Veteran

Eric Cobb Goodrich, MI

I'm looking for a new employment and recently updated my resume. I just wanted a few people to look it over to see if I would stand out to them or what corrections needed to be done. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time

Hi Eric-

I am retired after a 40 year career in industry where I hired over 100 people. Now I am helping veterans like yourself by helping with their resumes. If you would e-mail me your cover letter (drjamesfwatson@gmail.com) I would be happy to comment on it. I also recommend the book "Tired of Eating Peanut and Butter Sandwiches? - Tips to Get a Job Fast" available on Amazon. It contains practical advice. Good luck in your search!!

Eric,
I, too am happy to review it. If you can provide more information, it will make review of your resume that much easier so I know what industry/job field you are looking to pursue. First, are you still active duty or have you separated?

1) What are your career or educational goals? Are you looking to continue in the same career family/path or something new?
2) Do you know what type of job or industry you wish to target?
3) Have you pulled 1-2 job listings from that career path you are interested in to see what the qualifications/requirements are for that position? Have you done a gap analysis to see what might be missing?
4) Have you researched any of the companies within that field to see if they offer the type of job you are interested in?

Go ahead an message me privately and I will be more than happy to look over your resume and provide some feedback for you.
Cheers,
Brage
