Hi Eric,

What sets you aside from others with your same skills and experience? If you put your background on paper and another person's right next to it, why would someone choose you over them? Get your answer to that question down to three sentences and I think you'll find yourself far ahead of where you are now.

All the best!

What are your ambitions and skill set? Do you have a resume?

Eric...
If you have any interest in a sales career, there are several areas of the financial services profession where you could get paid while being trained and getting any required professional licensing.

Most life insurance and some Property/Casualty insurance companies, stock-brokerage firms, and mortgage origination firms will offer training programs that include a base salary or draw against future commissions while being trained or licensed.

Sales is NOT for everyone, but the income potential in each of the fields noted is significant, and bringing the work ethic that veterans have to the table can set the stage for a great 'next career'.

Keys to this choice would be finding out if they actually have a training program that includes techniques of developing business, so that you are not depending on friends and family to be your first - any maybe only - clients !
