It I'm getting out in 3 months when should I start apply to jobs and as a combat engineer what type of job could I get?

If you're within 3 months of separating you need to start applying now. The type of job you could get depends on what you want to do and how you market yourself. You have to steer that conversation. Good Luck!

I agree with the others here, you should already be applying. To answer your question about jobs specific for sappers I can speak from some experience as that was my MOS as well. I didn't find a ton of direct transfer of skills but I can tell you most of my friends that got out went into law enforcement or back to some sort of technical school for a couple years for some kind of skilled labor like jet engine mechanic or auto manufacturer work. One thing I would suggest is to start thinking about where you want to live and where you want to work. Then use something LinkedIn or Hoovers.com to find the largest employers in that area and start applying. I would also look to see is there are any temp agencies or staffing firms in the job function you are looking for. Some companies may not be willing to her you full time if you don't have enough relevant experiment but you may be able to get in starting on a temporary basis that can sometimes lead to a perminant position or at least start building your experience.
