Seeking review of resume for role as consultant

Veteran

Marshall Farmer Haleiwa, HI

I am a 1LT Executive Officer in an Army Engineer Company stationed in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. As I have prepared for my transition, I've discovered I have a real interest in consulting. I recently spent quite a bit of time revising my resume with an MBA consultant and a JMO recruiting agency. I was curious if there was anyone that would be willing to review my resume for its effectiveness in communicating my experience and if my current experience lends itself to a career in consulting. Thank you very much for your time

Look up your closest SCORE Chapter (Senior Corps of Retired Executives) and ask for FREE counseling on your question. These are men and women who give back by helping individuals start or grow their businesses. A consultancy would be right up their alley.

I'd be happy to look over your "paperwork" and give you my thoughts/feedback. Email it to me at Andrew@SierraDataScience.com .

I have worked for myself as a consultant for 45 years. One rule is that true consultants do not use resumes - use a synopsis of your experience. Using a resume says "out of work." Email me at Richard.jessup@gmail.com

Hi Marshall,

If you want another perspective beyond the ones offered above, I would be happy to review your resume. I have been a organizational development and talent management consultant for the past 20 years, both in big firms and now with my own start-up. I would be happy to share some perspective. Thanks very much for your service.

Hi Marshall,
Consulting is a pretty wide field of opportunity, and I suppose my first question is what kind of consulting are you seeking to work in? I have been a systems and risk management consultant since 2002, but there are many different fields of work in consulting. Even within the "IT" space, there are specializations and system focuses that one can seek to build their "niche" in.

I would be more than happy to work with you and review your resume. Feel free to send me a message, and thanks for your service!

Respectfully,
Tom
