After 20 years of service I need advice on translating my career into a civilian resume. I will retire in August and hope to have a job ready when I do. Is anyone able to offer advice to make this as smooth as possible?

I'm an executive search recruiter. If you go to my website www.indemandpeople.com and click on about at the top of the page then scroll down to candidate resources you will find resume formats, sample resumes and other resources. Keep in mind that companies only hire people for one reason, to solve a problem that they don't have the internal resources to solve. If you can demonstrate how to solve their problem your chance of being hired goes up exponentially. You are going to need to be able to articulate what tools you have in your tool box from your military career that you can use in your next career. Please contact me directly if you have additional questions. Prosource@egl.net is my email. My direct phone number is on my website. You may also want to check out www.reexaminelife.com I sincerely hope this helps. Also, I'm not trying to sell books here. I just want to help. I can tell you a lot about what you need to know. Finally, thank so much for your service.
I'm a first class right now as well and online there are great resume builders. My university that I'm getting my degree from also has a career center that is very helpful with creating and reviewing the resume I have completed already. Email me from one net global.
