I just returned form deployment and am looking for a job in northern Virginia. I have 16 years of experience in the HR realm with the military with additional areas such as OPSEC L2 certified however I'm working on my Graduate Degree in Information Assurance and have Security +, Net + CFOT, ITILv3 certs and am studying for CCNA. Looking for a good position.. I can just about do anything! thanks everyone

Also, your IT certifications are very much sought after. HR not so much due to the very different approach in private industry. However, cross-talking military HR experience to private industry HR experience is still possible.

Targeting specific jobs or fields can improve the effectiveness of your search by sending a message to potential hirers that you understand the personal strengths and interests you bring to the workplace. I suggest visiting my posting of several months ago, "What are best tools for veterans to self-assess their aptitude, capabilities, and interests?" and using one or more of the free/low cost tools available on the Internet to better understand yourself, and what you offer potential employers.
