Looking for feedback on my cover letter style.

Veteran

Paul Riedner Minneapolis, MN

I've been applying for jobs in design companies, but have not had any luck, not even initial interviews. I am a career changer with a very solid background and aptitude with design, but no formal experience. Having said that, I have yet to receive any responses to even my conventional MBA job cover letters. This makes me question my approach to the cover letter. My personal style is evident in my writing, which I get compliments for, but I wonder if it is harming my chances in this context. I just finished one for a company that I really admire and aspire to work for called Continuum. Is anyone willing to give it a look, whether you are in the design/innovation/business anthropology/branding industry or not, and give me your impression?

Thank you,

Paul

Most Hiring Managers review a resume in less than 2 minutes. A cover letter isn't even in the scope of what they want to see. Concentrate on your resume and "Thank you" letter after the interview.

Paul,

I would not mind taking a look at it. I have interviewed and hired many people over the years, and have had stacks of resumes cross my desk. If you can post your e-mail address, i will ping you. I just don't want to put my e-mail here and get 2000 resumes to look at.

Brian
