I am eligible to take the exam.

HI Mike,
In my own personal experience, I highly recommend a week-long boot camp course, self-study and then taking the exam. I've managed project for a very long time, but you need to demonstrate that you understand the way that PMI structures project management.
Good luck!

I would like to know more about this too. PMP certification has always been a goal of mine. I currently work in the Autoglass Industry and I might be able to branch out into a program manager eventually. I have had this quality inspection position for almost a year now.
Hi Mike --
With your language skills, have you thought of becoming a translator? Or, a foreign service career (State Department)? Yours are unique skills and valuable to somebody, somewhere in government circles.
Or even in commercial circles, depending on what companies do business where these languages are primary.
Good luck --

Hi Mike,
Deborah makes a great point for attaining this certification. Passing the PMP exam really just comes down to passing their test. There are many PMI organizations that will offer to train you on the PMP Body Of Knowledge, but that often results in multi-month enrollment and not correlate in retention of materials versus testing. I found the following example of a 4 day Boot Camp in your local city (https://www.4pmti.com/PMP-Certification/New-York-NY.asp) and would recommend you call and talk to one of their advisors.
All the best as you pursue this certification.
Peter
