I would look via E-Benefits for apprenticeships, that will actually turn into positions. Much of healthcare now are in the form of large systems, and I would look at Informational Interviewing with in house counselors with some of these large systems, answering. Please be sure you understand the difference between informational interviewing versus job searching, you might be surprised what an interest in their world might turn up. I would also look at law firms that work with large healthcare clients, informational interviewing there also. Thanks for your service.

Not sure if you have GI bill benefits, but have you considered looking at a nursing school or program? With limited experience you can move into admin as long as a degree allows entry.

Identify executives at local hospitals and ask for an "informational interview." The purpose of which is to gather information about what they see as the future needs for someone like THEM and to explore how THEY got into the position they hold. More often than not, if the person you are talking to likes you, they will set you up with someone else in the organization who might just be in a better position to help you. It is a type of networking and that is where the action is.

IF they do not rise to the bait, end the interview with something like, "Well, now that you have had a little time to get to know me, could you name 2 or 3 others with whom I should speak?" And, you are sitting there with your pad and pencil out to take down names and contact information. It works!
