I need to speak with an entrepreneur

Veteran

David Stickley San Antonio, TX

I have an idea for a basic concession stand here in San Antonio Texas. I have no idea what I need to do next. Licenses, permits, inspections, inc. Can anyone offer guidance on how to bring this to life?

David I have helped startups and small businesses for 25yrs. I can show you how to start your business with minimal cost (hundreds) and maximum technology. Allowing you to shrink the cost to aquire a new customer almost immediately. Advice can sometimes be confusing. Do everything yourself and outsource what you cant. I can help you reach out to me.

Be careful not to surround yourself with "yes" men & women. If there are challenges & obstacles (& there must be some, or your idea would have been implemented by someone else already), you want to know about them ASAP. So ask people to tell you "what am I missing?" & invite critique. Consider making a list of reasons not to proceed, along with all the reasons to more forward. And you may be able to use sole proprietorship & avoid LLC, but that would depend on what precisely you want to do. Good luck!

Start with LLC...use a computer system with cloud backup for accounting, taxes, payroll....start small...try to self finance...short leases....do what you have a passion in...do not expect to have paycheck...pay your employees first....grow in first 2 years....have an exit strategy...sell the biz at the top...for cash. Contact me for advice...in the past 40 years I have made biz profitable and watched in amazement biz people run their operations into the ground.

Start here and build a list of the requirements that you'll need. Write your vision out completely and then mentally walk yourself through a typical day in your business, tracking any needs or additional ideas that come up. This will help you bring your idea to life and create an outlet to add to the vision.

David,

These type things are dictated by city, country and state laws & regulations. I would suggest you contact the city government first (if you are indeed in city limits) - they will have special department which will tell you what you needed. The info may also be on line? The county may also have a separate department for the same.
