How to get in to the Military Aviation Defense Contracts Industry

Veteran

Roger Faria Buda, TX

My goal is to support the war fighter through Military Aerospace/Aviation, Civilian or Govt sector. Deploying and relocating not an issue.

Some Questions I have are:

* How do I my foot into this door? Like how do I find out what exact technical skills I need before hand at a minimum or what career paths I can choose from in this industry.

* Currently working toward a Bachelors in Computer Engineering degree.

* Referring to companies like Lockheed, Sikorsky, Boeing, MD Helicopters etc.

Thank you for your service Roger! When will you complete your Bachelors in Computing Engineering? I just retired from The Boeing Company after 30 years in Information Technology. Boeing has moved many IT jobs to St. Louis. If you are completing your degree soon and that location is an option, I can introduce you to an IT manager at that site.

Have you considered MITRE? We work to advise the Government in a number of related areas, including mine - the development of Mission Planning software for both the Navy and Air Force.
Feel free to contact me directly if you think this might be of interest.
