Does anyone know how the army health scholarship program works?

Veteran

Isaac Ehi Dallas, TX

I am a veteran in the Dallas, Texas area who is considering going into the army health scholarship program.

Currently I am finishing my Masters in counseling and I know that employment is tough for internship purposes.

I am considering clinical psychology or psychiatry as well.

Should I just try to switch to a different degree program and let the army pay for it then serve in active duty
Or
Should I stay in the counseling field and take my chances with employment after graduation 2016 this year?

Thanks

Isaac,

Any army healthcare recruiter (www.goarmy.com/amedd.html) should be able to help you out. These are different from the general recruiters you may run into, and they can specifically address your questions about the HPSP. I attended veterinary school on the Army HPSP back in the day, and I'd be happy to talk to you about my experience with the application, the schooling, and the Army Medical Department (AMEDD) if you'd like. Feel free to message me directly through ACP if you'd like to talk further.

Good luck!

Scott
