Give a snapshot of your security background. I spent 3 years as an 11bangbang and did another 2+ as a security contractor. What do you want to do?

The key here is what you mean. If you'd like to stay in security, looking for work at a Nuclear Plant is a way to do that which has generally better pay than local police forces, and should you be so inclined, the potential for advancement outside of security. I have two previous security officers working for me in Engineering.

There are plenty of nuclear plants in your area. I'd suggest searching Monster for Exelon or Entergy as a company, and then "security" as a key word. We need people like you with ex-military experience to add to our diverse network of employees.

Hi Nicholas,

Thank you very much for your service. I'd recommend looking at ACP AdvisorNet's Community page. It allows you to search for Advisors by location, experience and industry. I did a quick search and found a number of Advisors from organizations such as the San Diego Police Department, SecureMax, The Security Training Center of South Florida and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

I'd suggest you take a look and consider messaging some of these Advisors to learn more about the training needed for security officers. If you'd like to take a quick tour of Community page or have additional questions please feel free to message me.

Happy Veterans Day!

Best,
Kathleen
