I just graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Economics. My background in the U.S. Army was a technical job where I used tactical data systems to measure accurate field artillery firing. In addition, I served as an infantryman and combat team leader in Iraq. I have all the leadership qualities, professional work ethic, and high moral and integrity that people can trust. I'm open to many fields of business industries where I can utilize my skills, but how do I network and find the right person that can believe in me and give me the opportunity to achieve and grow professionally?

I want to let you know that ACP actually offers two free programs that may help you with networking. The first is the site that you are on, ACP AdvisorNet. If you click on the community section at the top of the page, you can look for mentors in various industries and regions around the country and reach out to as many as you like with questions. The second way that ACP can help you out is by connecting you with your own Mentor for a year-long, one-on-one mentorship with a business executive who can give you the inside track to help you get ahead. A recommendation I often make is to use a job search app like Indeed.com to do some job description research. Using key words from your military occupation, see what industries are hiring and what qualifications they look for. This may help you to tailor your resume or cover letter so it gets attention.
I expect Telecommunications, Aerospace and Automotive engineering to pop up for you.
These industries often host career fairs that would give you an opportunity to talk face to face with recruiters.

Congratulations on your degree and thank you for your service. I can suggest a couple of areas you might consider to find the right role or company as you have some very good experience. ASU, my school also, has a strong career services program which can possibly help you in interviewing and research for various roles of participating companies or broader fields of interest. ASU also may have periodic local networking events in the area you live which you should check out. Another option is to find the list of the Top 50 employers in your area of residence( business journal or internet) and start to research those companies which are of interest. Additionally, as you research the companies, find the key individuals in the companies of interest who may also be veterans and connect directly with those folks. A phone call or email to try and get a coffee connect might help you in understanding more about the companies roles or other sources. If you have a degree plus the military experience I think a full time position is not out of the question. Our companies website is www.pepsicojobs.com
