In DC you are surrounded by attorneys. Big competition. I would try Monsanto...they could use your chemical/law background. Nearby is ATK/OA. They make bullets....something that never goes out of style regardless who is in office. If you want real estate try MA. Move there. ..all real estate transactions require an attorney. Also when you are in MA you could be a circuit rider for small townships that cannot hire a full time attorney.

Go where the Lawyers won't. Try to get a job in Procurement with the Oil companies in North Dakota/Wyoming. With your education you should be able to "blow" the competition away. Get three years of experience and then be ready to move into more responsible positons. That is what I did and it works. My background is similar to yours: degrees in Engineering; Industrial Management; most of an MBA, and a JD.

An advice is, focus deeply on jobs, so 1-2 applications a week. Update resume for each including keeping only those items relevant to the ask, try to find people in that firm to send it so it is not quickly dismissed.

I am open to Contracts positions in Private or Government. And will relocate to. Procurement and Supply-Chain are big areas which I have a 2nd Masters in. With a JD/MBA and 2nd Masters with a science BS you would think I would be a hot property. Anyway, thanks for all of your replies.

are you looking for opportunities near major sea ports? I'm not educated in the field but as a personal thought, cruise lines or ships agents may be a good consideration for work. Contrary to popular belief, the cruise industry is often looking for people who have experience and discipline similar to what's received in the military. Since it's a unique industry, many people start their careers at a cruise line.
