Looking to relocate my family from Los Angeles to the Jacksonville, FL region to begin a new career opportunity in the Maintenance/Facilities Coordinator field. I have a diverse background that encompasses military construction, aerospace, retail, manufacturing and entertainment industries and my desire is to find a company or organization in the North Florida region that would accept my credentials and allow me to be part of their team. If there are any mentors or HR managers that could assist me in this matter, it would be greatly appreciative.

If you are applying for positions in Florida currently, your resume may be screened out as the companies are most likely looking for local candidates (unwilling or unable to pay relocation). You have a couple of options at this point:
1. Take Pete's advice and move ahead of your family. Can be difficult on everyone, but shows your commitment to the relocation.
2. If you have a relative in Florida, use their address or get a PO Box so that you have a local address.
3. Write a cover letter that states your commitment to relocation and let the potential employer know that you do not require relocation assistance.

Depends on your commitment William.
If this is it and fully committed.. consider moving out solo and consider giving yourself 3-6 mo to land a gig acceptable.
Send for your family... spend 6 mo - year networking in your professional community, events etc.. be visible.. take coursework to promote your profession and tool up.
Not an easy task, but nothing Great is easy. At some point say two year plan, will all be worth it.

Check the job boards on the local IFMA and BOMA chapter sites. Highlight any HVAC experience you have, and try to get some if you don't have any. Hotels are a good place to start as supervisor or manager if you lack experience in the field. You can then move to commercial real estate, hospitals, etc.
