Anyone looking for a personal trainer?

Veteran

The training studio I have worked at for the last 6 years I believe is closing. I have worked with high end clients/professional athletes and celebrities. Interested in exploring options.

This is one skill that is very "portable" meaning you can easily start your own business. I did just that and was very successful for many years until I decided to go another direction with my career. If you have the clients, certified as a trainer, a great personality, can be flexible in your customer base and be able to go to your customer - then thats a great start. Without a doubt its a relationship business. Another option would be to go to another health club and work as a trainer for them. You may not make as much but its much more stable. Keep in shape - you need to look the part as well.
Good luck.

I'd love to engage your services, but it is hard to get from East Hampton to Shelter often enough. Generally, this is bound to be a drawback for you. I expect that business will be brisk during The Season, but in the winter, not so much. Either start your own business or stalk the other providers on the Island.

Michael- in the Los Angeles area are two business clubs- The Jonathan club and the California Club. Both have Athletic Depts. The Jonathan Club - to which I belong- is very supportive of the military ( I don't belong to the CA Club so don't know its degree of military support). Alan Krugel is the Jonathan Club's Athletic Director if you want to inquire of him ( can find the Jonathan Club contact info on line). The Olympic Club in San Francisco and the Los Angeles Athletic Club are two other clubs- both feature athletics. Big cities all over the country have clubs like the ones I mention here, the NY Athletic Club coming to mind in your area. Good luck. Larry Schnabel, CDR , USNR-R (ret.).
