MBA vs MAML

Veteran

I'm looking at continuing my education and I was wondering which degree is more marketable/better either the Master of Arts in Management and Leadership (MAML) or an MBA with Leadership Cognate?

I work for a large company, and am in a hiring manager position, and I have never hired someone with a MAML, and frankly have never seen that acronym on a resume. Unless there's something pretty significant in the curriculum that alludes me, I think you're always safe with the MBA. Financial focus in MBA is also always a solid choice. If you've got the MBA, they often assume the leadership skills.

I run a small company and have always worked for small companies. I agree with everything Kerri said.

Beyond her advise, the specific degree you pursue or the school you attend is not necessarily important. Of course you need basic competency or technical skills depending on the job.

But what I want to see is your history of success and your personal measure of accomplishment. Do you strive to do your best at whatever task is at hand. Not only with those tasks you love, but also the mundane and uncomfortable tasks. And are you an optimist - do you find a way to overcome obstacles, somehow consistantly finding a path to success - again regardless of the task?

This is the kind of person every company looks for. Someone that can be depended upon to reach a goal without excuses or regrets - either from you, your boss, or your customer.

Good luck!
