I have to respectfully disagree with Mr. Phillips' comment about the field being "tight". If you check with the right sources, like the Dept. of Labor to name one, Info Sec and IT in general is still one of the fields with the best job outlook for the foreseeable future. That being said, where you get your degree can have some impact. I work for Boeing for example, and many companies like mine have strategic partnerships with traditional universities. That does not mean you cannot get hired by a big company if you have an ITT degree. One of my coworkers did her study at ITT. The quality of the person including grades, prior experience, personality, etc. all is more important than the school name printed on the diploma. What worked for me was going to a quality school with a respected program, and graduating with honors. Grades matter when you are in a pile of resumes and they have to scale down the pile. Getting a good internship is also very important. In fact, do as many as you can. For online IT programs, I can recommend my alma mater, Penn State. I have friends who have also given high marks to Washington State, Virginia Tech, and Georgia Tech. I would warn you that online programs are not easier but for many who have to work while in schoo, they are a better option.

ITT Tech has a horrible reputation. I would only recommend it for a person currently working in a company they enjoy but need a degree for promotion opportunities.

Go with a state school. In most cases it is much cheaper with the added bonus of career services.

It's a tight field. Great in the 80's and 90's but now the systems are so good. I wouldn't recommend that field unless you could really specialist in a growing notch industry.
