But once the resume is in all I get is a thanks but no thanks. Can someone look over my resume, cover letter, and linkdin profile. If I could get a mentor as well that would be awesome

Charles, be flexible with location. If you want to stay in the south central area then I have some contacts that say there are some opportunities in south texas.
Just send me your resume via email please: l3.thebrand@gmail.com

No need to read any literature, your resume is the key. What you will find is that each HR employee will have certain likes and dislikes. Tailor your resume to the position your seeking.
Sometimes you might have to accept a lower position and than work your way up. The Railroads love prior military because their structure was set up by former Army Officers.

Suggest you look at North Dakota/Wyoming. Google the firms that are up there drilling for oil and gas. They are hiring. Take whatever you find. Get some experience in the industry then after a few years seek an improvement.
Charles, I'll also volunteer to review your resume. I have worked in the power gen field for the last 10 years after completing my stint in the navy.
Hi Charles,
I would be happy to review your resume, cover letter and your linkedin profile. If possible, please send me a job description as well.
I would also consider trying to do some informational interviews with the different companies you are interested in prior to just blindly dropping the resume. Either reach out to someone in veteran relations or try to find someone in your network that may have access.
