How do I find a person to write my blog?

Veteran

Dali Rivera Abingdon, MD

Are there firms or companies that have specific knowledge of industries? I have been looking into hiring someone to write my blog, which has a lot to do in the culinary industry and home goods (kitchen items, to be more specific). I thought of hiring a college kid, but that seems a little risky. However, I am also worried about the fees that come with hiring a company to do this for me.

Does anyone have any knowledge about this? Any info will be very helpful.

Thanks,

Dali

Writing a blog needs to come from people who really get the ideas youu're trying to communicate. If it is written by some outsourced vendor or someone who is merely parroting thoughts of others, the blog will most likely have little to no credibility with your target audience. I suggest you identify someone who really gets the subject matter (maybe you) and leverage a talented writer to only edit and help to tease ideas out.

Getting outside help isn't a bad thing, but turning ownership over is not a good thing.

I feel that you need to write your own blog. I'm not technically-savvy but I created my own blog. I used www.wordpress.com

Hi Dali,

We can help you with writing blogs social media and blog content submission , and video marketing as well. Writing a blog is just the first part of the equation, how do you then distribute the content after that? We can build a customized android mobile app for your blog, and list your blog on the android app market place where people will access your blog directly from their cell phones. Take a look at our website and leave us a message. Do not entrust your blog to cheap outsourcing services that do not value your brand. You get what you pay for.

Hi Dali -- I'm not sure if you're still looking for help here or if you've had any luck with your blog, but below are some ideas that you might try:
1. Search online to see bloggers or writers in the culinary space who you admire or like their style -- they may be interested in partnering with you or writing content on the side.
2. Hiring a student might be fine as long as they have expertise in the space or can bring some sort of value.
3. You could also look for a recent graduate in the culinary space who is trying to make a name for themselves.

Finally, as many mentioned above, it is important that a blog has your personal point of view. Even if you are partnering with others on content, it could be helpful if you write some of the content as well. Good luck with your efforts!

Best regards,
Jennifer

You can easily get someone to write posts for you for $2 an hour.

And they are good quality unique articles.

This will give you time to focus on marketing

If you want to know the resource let me know

Dear Dali,

All of the thoughts expressed by others have some merit, however, I think most would be very surprised to find out how many blogs are actually ghost written. Not everyone has the time or skills to write a blog, especially if it's part of an integrated marketing program for their business.

If you would like to discuss your needs with me in more detail, please let me know and I can get you the help you need.

Best wishes,

Here I'm going to be controversial perhaps: you don't want anyone else writing your blog. Do it yourself. I can read from 10,000 miles when a blog is written by some PR agency... always crappy.

Now writing is not for everyone, but then find other ways to communicate.

But :) - I betcha you could do it pretty well!

A few ideas. Please let me know what you think, and please post any follow-up questions or comments.

1. Define the purpose and mission of the blog? What is the ultimate goal?

2. Write a job description for the blog. Post the job to job boards such as craigslist.

3. Potentially hire a writer. Many writers advertise their services on the Services section of craigslist.

3. Might a business plan be helpful?
