Any tips for people transitioning in the Colorado Springs area?

My wife and I are moving to Colorado Springs in a couple months to begin our post-military life. Any tips from people who have transitioned out there? While I have a job lined up, we will be starting fresh in most aspects of our lives!

Hey Tyler,
Congrats! and welcome to the next phase of your life. You have chosen a great place to move, lots to do and a military friendly place. There alot of good places to live in the springs, I would recommend looking at several areas before settling on one. Winter is coming quickly so a 4-wheel drive vehicle is a plus. There are several areas that will be a short drive from the springs so get out and take advantage of that. Good luck and welcome to the springs.

Hi Tyler,

First, thank you for serving! My wife and I settled here a long time ago and we live in the west side of C-Springs near the USAF Academy. I'm sure you already know but the rental and housing market are tight at this time so start looking as far in advance as possible for a place to call home. If you need a realtor I can recommend one so let me know. Also, am not sure how familiar you are with Colorado Springs but it's a growing city with tons of outdoor activities in an around the city. If you're into outdoor activities, no doubt you'll find it here (biking, hiking, fishing, campli8ng, skiing...). Please feel free to let me know if you have any specific questions and I'll be happy to answer them as best I can.
Safe travels!

Tyler,
I am sending you Patrick Burbridge's email and I will let him know you are reaching out. Patrick works in supply chain, but retired in Colorado Springs. Tell him you receive the name from Jerry Welsh, his brother's (Gregg) friend from Michigan who assisted him with his resume years ago.
I am also sending you some information on LinkedIn and the transition market in general. . Remember that you are part of the 0.5% of Americans who serve their country. You are very well respected, but the chance civilians have been part of the 0.5% simply means they will not understand your language or experiences-without translation. Thank you for your support and sacrifices. God Bless https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/come-prepared-transition-process-gap-between-civilian-jerry-welsh/
