I have developed a resume, but some of the lingo related to positions, tasks, programs are military related. Can someone provide a resources that translates military lingo to civilian lingo?

Michael-
Sorry I called you "Jerry" earlier! I saw Jerry's answer and used his name instead of yours!
Here is another resource for you from ziprecruiter, which provides a translation of military to civilian terms for position titles and skills.

Sorry again for the name mix-up! And thanks for your service!

Hi Jerry-
Thanks for your service!
Check out these Military Skills translator tools:
https://www.military.com/veteran-jobs/skills-translator
https://www.careeronestop.org/Toolkit/Jobs/match-veteran-jobs.aspx
Hope this helps, but if not, please feel free to PM me with your resume and identify which terms you need help translating. I worked in DoD for 25+ years and as a DoD Contractor now for 12+ years and I've seen many transitioning military resumes so I can also be your translator if those tools don't do the trick.
Thanks again!
Deb
Michael,
First you need to determine what type of career you are looking for, probably in the health care field as your education has leaned that way. I would look at HireMilitary to see if they had any internships that might assist. I would also start conducting Informational Interviewing with people in a variety of related careers you might enjoy and qualify for. Once you gain an understanding of the career, much of its language and most of all the metrics(what they use to measure value/success) then go back and look at your accomplishments and tailor them to those care needs in the career. Once you establish your financial requirements (realistically) and work studying the career you will find much of the work you have done translates to accomplishing objectives with people. Thank you for your service and God Bless. I am attaching a couple of LinkedIn profiles that were senior military with a variety of roles, that narrowed the profile down and a couple of articles on career research and LinkedIn profiles.

Good examples of “to the point” profiles are Mark Broc, PMP, SSGB, CSM and Jack Eisenhauer, Global Supply Chain. All have had long careers, but emphasized experiences and accomplishments that offer examples of the career they are searching for.
