How do find, ask, and connect with mentor?

Veteran

Mark McElMurray Jacksonville, NC

I have never had a mentor. As a junior enlisted, I never really received much counsel. Most of the people who has been in charge of me I never bridged the gap to ask anyone to mentor me.
I hope that I can learn how to ask the right person to mentor me through the transition process out of the military.

Hi Mark-

I would be happy to have a conversation and see if my knowledge is aligned with your interests and therefore if we would be a good match for this.

Please respond with more information on what you are looking for in terms of advice/mentoring and maybe we can set up a call.

Best,

Josh Heimann

This is a great idea and I hope you continue with it. One thing that will help is for you to identify areas you want to be mentored. Mentors come with all different types of background and experiences to share, so think about whether you want help with a specific technical area or with more leadership focus or maybe something else. Give this some thought and it might really help you land the best possible mentor for what you want to do. Hope this helps. Good luck. Jeff
