Hi Patrick,
To be a civil service LEO, there are plenty of websites to look up. Glen Cove has a residency requirement so that might be right up your alley. NYPD tests and hires constantly, so that could be a start while waiting for GC, and would provide points towards your pension. I believe they both require 2 years college OR military.
