It takes a village to make a different in our community when a person has served their time they should be able to moved forward and if we at "NEW WAY" can change the way many companies look at ex- offenders. we can save billions of dollars in tax take care of them in prison.

Humble is a place that really needs that, considering the prison that is there and the steady influx of population (I'm from Humble). Humble Area Assistance Ministries and other outreach groups exist within the church going population, they might be a good place to start. Kingwood community college is also another place to look/ collaborate with. Around the airport, there was low income housing that some of my friends lived in. It might be another place to look for placing people in a home.

Interesting idea. I suggest partnering with an existing agency or organization, such as a church. The revenue levels required to pay for rent, utilities, insurance, etc. are VERY challenging to achieve when the merchandise you are selling is used merchandise. Partnering would take some of the financial pressure off, at least initially, and also enable you to apply for grants eventually. A church might have space to donate, even a few days a week, or might have connections for a pop-up temporary store.

You sound like a ready-to-go entrepreneur, but I recommend NOT going alone on something like this. Fold yourself into a stable organization with recognition, connections, and resources. Maybe you wait to launch your idea, but build your reputation and track records first. Your objectives are laudable!!

Research other organizations that do this and learn from them. Good luck.

Consider becoming involved with the Transitional assistance program. They have an extensive support system to help veterans leaving the service.
