The first step would be to contact your county VSO. In Montcalm County, they should direct you to a guy named Eric, as long as he's still there.

Through him you can take advantage of the many resources the MVAA and the DMVA provide, including the Michigan Veterans Trust Fund.

If you're interested in education, I can get you in contact with some people on your side of the state at the publics and community colleges. There are a lot of really good, local options for you over there. Also, If you're still in the Guard, you may be eligible for MING-STAP. If you have any questions about that, please let me know.

I made a very nice career in the Excepted Technition Program. A person like yourself who is in the National Guard can compete for these jobs, which are paid very well according to the job skill. Mechanics for example.
Look on "USAJOBS" for your Sate.
Visit the Combined Support Maintenance Shop "CSMS"
You must have the "Knowledge" "Skills" and "Abilities" KSAs, experience and background.

I wanted to thank everyone for the feedback. I initially got into this situation of being behind on my bills about a year ago when my employer was writing me bad paychecks. I have usaa to do my banking so I had to scan the check to my computer to deposit. Checks didn't return for two pay periods after paying my bills. Recieved a ton of bounce fees and employer only covered about one third of the fees. I never recieved the full amount of the bounced checks value. I was forced to seek employment elsewhere. Trying to sell what I have to save what is necessary.

You can contact your local United Way chapter to receive immediate help. You should seek financial counseling to determine how you got to that place and what steps to take to avoid getting there again . Congratulations on the new baby, and hang in there. You can shop Re-store for things like baby car seats, high chairs, cribs, blankets, clothes, etc.
