I think you received good answers. I know in Wisconsin they brought back a GI Bill for Veterans young and old as long as you joined in Wisconsin and now live in Wisconsin
. If you dont find what you need check with your state VA programs.

Another possibility could be Voc Rehab (VR&E) if you happen to have a service connected (or have since developed a service related) disability.
