Startup Assistance Needed--Liquid Cognitive Enhancer: +Creativity, +Memory, +Mood, +Focus, +Energy, +Motivation

Veteran

Edward Ciccarelli San Francisco, CA

Hello, my name is Edward and I am working for a startup company starting a project to mix a 26 ingredient stack supplement with hopes to help my fellow veterans, as well as other professionals who need something that will increase mental cognition, elevate mood, help one stay calm under stress, increase memory, increase focus, and give around 6-10 hours of sustained energy without the use of caffeine. We are now on Version 2 of the formula. The stack is a mix of vitamins, minerals, and herbs. I am looking to have an expert, such as a food scientist/technologist to help with flavoring, preservatives, nutrition, and co packing. Ideally we want the flavor to be a “neutral” flavor, flexible enough to mix with other liquids or able to be consumed on it's own.

Who:
Edward: Military Veteran (Iraq: 8mo; Afghanistan: 24mo) with nine years of service. Current Status: Captain (O-3) Reserves and working as a Sr. Project Manager in the private sector.

Why I want to develop this:
Wants to utilize non-pharmaceutical/legal methods to help his fellow service members/veterans perform their duties at peak personal performance.

Who:
Salim: Finance Professional and Serial Entrepreneur, started 4 companies before graduating UCLA. Organic chemistry prodigy, computer programmer, and animal behaviorist.

Why I want to develop this:
Today’s successful professional needs to achieve a cognitive advantage but in a way that is convenient, effective, and sustainable.

What are we developing:
A non-proprietary (open source--transparent formulation) synergistic, multi-stack liquid nootropic (cognitive enhancer) with 26 powerful ingredients. No other product has as many ingredients (5 ingredients which are deficient in the modern diet) or is in an easy to drink liquid form. The enhancer aims to attain:
● Increased Mental Cognition
● Increase Memory Recall
● Elevated Mood and Motivation
● Increased Energy Levels
● Increase Focus
● Help keep calm under pressure

Why develop this product:
* Convenient to carry and consume * Cost Effective vs purchasing 20+ different pills * Dose Effective * Highly absorbable versus pills * Flavorful * No fillers like the ones used in manufacturing pills * No banned substances--Athletes/Military can consume! * Open source--Non-proprietary (transparent) formulation * Convenient One-Use Pouch

Where do we need assistance:
>Food Product Formulation
>Distribution Strategies
>FDA/Other Regulatory Compliance
>Third Party Certification of Analysis
>Quality Assurance and Control
>Trademarking
>Contract Manufacturing
>Website/Social Media Development

Please let me know if you have any interest in our project or can provide some assistance.

I appreciate your time and consideration,

Edward

Edward most of the comments posted are negative for the right reasons. I am sure you are passionate about your products however reality is that if you had the product how would you market it. I have purchased several products that claim to do what yours will do and saw no appreciable differences. They all had a creditable marketing strategy which is why I spent money. I have also learned to use focused meditation which is free and really allows the person to experience the benefits you are outlining. I am sure nothing we say here will dissuade you since I know you believe in your quest and feel it will make a difference. I would suggest that you figure out a way to test your product inexpensively in the market before you commit all your resources and your energy. Let the market tell you rather than you think you know the market. This is a lesson I Learned a long time ago that has served me well.
Warmly,
Bob

Hello Edward

Thank you for your service to our country.

I know a chemist in Seattle with a PHD from an Ivy League school for who is considered top in the field he works in. I have consulted with him and and cannot say enough positive things about him. He has expertise in the area you asked about.

If you like I can ask him if I can put you in touch with him.
Best wishes,

Ethan

Hi, Edward,
First a word of "Thanks!" for your years of service to our U.S.A. And, wishing you success in your current venture as indicated in your post. I do have a few comments about your vision for creating this new product.
Comments:
1. You are entering into a highly competitive product field. Do you have the funds to cover
all the necessary steps: purchasing ingredients, testing for quality of ingredients, manufacturing of products, and marketing..
2. Your staff and employee costs
3. The way you will market your product(s)
4 Can you survive during the initial years to become profitable.
5. You say it will be a 'non-proprietary' product. So any other manufacturer can use your
formulation to market their product.
And finally,
6. There already is a company in the wellness industry which has products that are designed to do the things you want to offer veterans and other people.
If you're interest in learning about this company, please get back to me.

Let's talk about how you will sell this to... And How.

Edward,

You've got a long road ahead of you in terms of getting your product to market. In all likelihood, you will need to vet your product through the FDA. That can be fairly straightforward or it can be quite complex and expensive, depending on the claims you are making. You might want to hit the FDA website and search on 5 Hour Energy and similar products to see if there is any documentation there that will help you identify the approvals you might need. I just did a quick Google search of contract nutritional supplement manufacturers and found quite a few companies who may be able to produce your product. A key qualification is that they are a cGMP manufacturer. If you'd like to explore this further, ping me via email at whgcraig@gmail.com.
