Know of a reputable company for SKU codes?

Veteran

Hi,

I have some products that will need a SKU code. Is there a company anyone has dealt with that they would recommend? I hate just looking up companies online without being recommended by someone who has used their services.

Thanks,

Dali Rivera

Dali,

I searched several months ago and the official UCC site charges an exorbitant amount. I found several companies that purchased a block of codes, more than they needed and are now selling them at a reasonable price. I bought a couple for some products I sell on Amazon and have not had a problem. The website I used is http://smallbusinessupc.com/. Good luck.

Dali, SKU or UPC areis more commonly known as bar codes. Interesting, most products and/or their labels come with both the alpha-numeric text as well as the bar coding. Most likely you've seen this on products you've purchased.

What do you need to do? Do a Google search for UPC-Bar Codes. This should bring you to many sites related to SKU, UPC and bar coding. One is the Uniform Code Council site.

In order for your company to print U.P.C. Bar Code Symbols, your company will need to become a member of the Uniform Code Council, Inc. (UCC). When you become a member, your company will be assigned an identification number for your company's use (company prefix). You will need this number to create your own UPC.s.

There are fees involved. I believe they are on the UCC site.
